Serendipity Pre-School is an inspirational idea currently being researched and developed by Emma Hartnell-Baker- also known as The Child Listener ( The-Child-Listener.com )
She is designing a purpose built unit on acreage - Maudsland Gold Coast Queensland- to offer a unique Early Years Education Program. Children between the ages of 2 and 5 will be offered the opportunity to spend 2.5 hours with The Child Listener from 9.30am - 12pm Monday to Friday- minimum of 2 sessions per week attendance required.

 

The Serendipity Pre-School Education Program is not 'childcare' or 'day care'. This is a specialist early years education program for children aged 2+
The Child Listener is a well-known child and teenage behaviour advisor and family therapist. She manages 'Read Australia' - proving useful free information as well as workshops and training for parents and teachers interested in learning more about phonics.

 
 
  


The Child Listener- Emma Hartnell-Baker- has a BEd Hons (Primary Education
with Early Years Specialism) and a Masters Degree in Special Needs from Nottingham University.
She is also a professional Life Coach.

Teaching your child to read as early as possible, and to love reading - is one of our top priorities!

The Child Listener was the founder and Director of two successful nursery schools within the UK - caring for children between the ages of 6 weeks
and 8 years (including before and after school care) She was then appointed by the UK Government (Ofsted) to inspect childcare provision
and Early Years Education. Using her experience and understanding of how children learn and develop, and how to offer the best opportunities
for children to reach their potential in all areas, The Child Listener is preparing a special early years education program. Just 4 children may enroll
at any session- the goal is that all children gain 1:1 attention in an environment where they are able to learn through play, and develop
independence and self-confidence in addition to positive social and communication skills.
A purpose built unit is being designed, to offer a bright and stimulating environment in which to facilitate a positive approach to
learning and to problem solving. It will be equipped with a wide range of toys, books, equipment and games to to develop fine and
gross motor skills. Both the outdoor and inside space will be used to its full advantage, to to help foster a curiosity about the world around us, and
develop imaginative and creative play.
Individual learning programs will be developed for each child, and parents will be encouraged to be continue this program at home throughout
the week. Parent commitment to this program is paramount- teaching your child to read as early as possible is one of our priorities, in line
with worldwide recommendations regarding the teaching of literacy. We cannot do this without your involvement

To add your name to the waiting list please complete the Expression of Interest Form. All children are welcome. When open children will be
offered places according to date added to the waiting list.

The Child Listener has a Blue Card, is a registered Queensland teacher, and has a current First Aid Certificate.
The Serendipity Pre-School will be fully covered by Public Liability Insurance.
