Academics

Serendipity Preschool uses Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD, an evidence-based comprehensive curriculum and assessment tool. In addition, we have research- and evidence-based curricula to compliment our main curriculum.

Creative Curriculum

The Creative Curriculum builds children’s confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills through hands-on, project-based exploration.

It helps teachers create a high-quality learning environment for the children in their care.

Teaching Strategies GOLD

The assessment model used in GOLD follows widely held expectations for children and enables a whole-child approach to assessment. It assists teachers in selecting and adapting activities that support each child’s development and learning, including those with disabilities.

Fundations

Fundations® Pre-K provides an introduction, or “pre-dose,” to the letter sound and writing skills that are taught to mastery in Kindergarten. It supports students’ emerging understanding of the alphabetic principles of letter-sound associations and alphabetical order and the written language skill of manuscript letter formation.

Storytime

Heggerty

Heggerty teaches eight phonemic awareness skills: rhyme, onset fluency, phoneme isolation, blending, segmenting, adding, deleting, and substituting. Additionally, letter names, sound recognition, and language awareness via nursery rhymes are taught.

Al's Pals

Al's Pals empowers young children to learn how to make healthy decisions, resolve conflicts, manage their feelings, and build positive relationships.

Kids with Capes
